Last Sunday, November 27th, 2022, marked 25 years since I registered tantramar.com, effectively launching Tantramar Interactive.
This was months before I’d heard of Google (though they registered their domain a couple of months before), and at the time it felt like it was late to the website design/development game.
An awful lot has changed over that time, but a surprising number of things haven’t changed at all. Professional presentation, customer-focused ease of use, and fast- & responsive websites have remained key.
When we opened our first office on Lorne Street in Sackville, 6 of us were sharing a single dial-up connection to the internet, using a Mac OS 8-based WebSTAR server co-located in a rural farmhouse in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. We were also the first NBTel (now Aliant) high-speed Vibe™ (DSL) customer in Sackville, New Brunswick.
Thanks to everyone who’s been a part of this journey so far. There are far too many to list, though of course Choleena DiTullio was there at the very beginning and made it all possible. There was also an early startup loan from ACOA — paid back in full and on-time! — that really helped out.
